Durable Trails that Complement their Environment.

We specialize in machine built trails with the feel and look of a hand build. With a mini ex capable of building trails just 80 cm wide we can build in complex terrain with minimal land disturbance. This means the trails work around their environment.

Rancho Santana
Nicaragua

Rancho Santana is a 2,700 acre luxury resort and residential community on Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast. The resort had an existing network of mixed use hike/ bike/ horse trails. We developed a master plan to evolve the area into a full MTB trail network suitable for all abilities. They were also the first MTB specific trails in Nicaragua.
We trained a local crew of landscapers to become the first official trail maintenance team. We then worked on the existing network. We re-routed, linked trails, improved flow, and fortified the trails to manage heavy rainfalls.

Where the Sun Don’t Shine
Bralorne BC

The Bridge River Valley Community Association tasked us with building the South Chilcotin’s first professionally built mountain bike trail. The trail was to be an accessible single black with hand built style with some larger machine built features. The build was in collaboration with local community volunteers and First Nation.

Pamplemousse
Squamish, BC

Pamplemousse was Ride BC's first major contribution to the Squamish trail network. This 1.4km black diamond descent quickly became rated the 2nd most popular trail in Squamish.

Built as a key arterial trail connecting Alice Lake trails to Alice Lake campground and lakes.

Steep terrain, talus slopes and land boundaries (BC Parks), made this a challenging build. It was built to minimize heavy braking points and to be ridden safely and a wide range of speeds.

Pamplemousse

Hand-built technical . 1.4 km

An instant classic with over 24,000 riders in the first 4 months. Currently rated 2nd most popular trail in Squamish. 6% avg. gradient single track designed to minimize required maintenance while enhancing user experience.

Lower Pamplemousse

Machine Built technical . 800 m

Lead design and build of an intermediate machine built flowing technical trail in the Alice Lake Network. Trail is intended to remove descending traffic from the popular Jack’s Trail

“Perfect Pamplemousse conditions year round! Great route finding and a well thought out build with drainage means this trail stands up to abuse and gives an awesome ride experience every time! The most fun and flowy trail in Squamish - It suits a lot of levels, and you can have fun interpreting it in your own way.”

Lower Hybrid & Bro Down
Squamish, BC

Two key trails in the heart of Squamish’s Diamond Head network were left unridden due to logging and degradation. This put additional strain on the other arterial trails. Ride BC completed full machine rebuilds, restoring the them with modern features and improving durability.

Lower Hybrid

Machine Built technical . 400 m

Rehabilitated a damaged trail lost to logging in 2014. Realigned entrance, corners and designed drainage into the entire trail. Trail now flows with less braking, better sight lines, more support and an intuitive feel. Following this work, Hybrid quickly became a “go to” lap in Diamond Head

Bro Down

Machine Built technical . 400 m

A major rehabilitation project of a historic trail. Rebuilt as an intermediate single track machine built flow trail with optional jump features. Trail design leverages frequent grade reversals to manage speed and drain the trail surface effectively

PoCo Climb
Port Coquitlam, BC

The City of Port Coquitlam wanted to link neighbourhoods through under utilized forested terrain. The aim was to increase neighbourhood walkability and showcasing the beautiful nature within this city suburb. Ride BC built carpentry grade timber stairs with consistent rise height for hikers of all ages. Handrails were built where necessary along with engineered bridges.

Ride BC had a crew of trail builders and red seal carpenters to the design and build over 200 lumber steps with consistent rise height for hikers of all ages. Handrails were built on exposed sections along with a series of engineered split cedar bridges.

The Donut
& Quarantine Climb
Squamish, BC

The Donut was one of Squamish's original mountain bike trails, but had been largely unridden, partly due to its hike-a-bike access. Ride BC built a dedicated climb trail and new descent leveraging the exposed granite rolls and panoramic views of the Squamish Valley. It quickly became one of Squamish’s most ridden slab trails.

✔ Climb trail build ✔ Hand built descent

The Donut is a super fun trail. Well built and flowy despite challenging terrain. it is built very sustainably, which is key for a high traffic trail in a rainy place like Squamish”
